The opportunity to present my project to someone new proved to be very helpful, i think the scheme is heading in the right direction and i have a good idea of where to go from here. I think the most important thing for now is to get a good understanding of the programme for the 'hub' building and also to start thinking about how to make it work within the context of the site.
This is the last week before a 2 week break for easter so it is important to make sure that i am well prepared for tutorials on friday so that i am able to go into the break with a clear idea of what work to do and what direction to go in with my scheme.

Preparing for the next interim review which takes place this friday. We are joined by a tutor from another unit for this review so it will be interesting to have an opportunity to explain my project to someone new and get their feedback.
The key thing is putting together a cohesive presentation which explains the basic thoughts behind my project. With that out of the way I can be more confident when going into more depth with the scheme.
The project is moving forward well and i'm starting to work more on the physical proposals than research now.

Got back from the 3rd year trip to barcelona earlier this week. We got to see a really diverse range of architecture. It was interesting to see how the buildings related to a context that i'm not particularly familiar with. We also got some lectures to help us understand the background of the city and the buildings we were looking at.
Today was a successful tutorial as I now have a clear idea of what direction to go in with this project. The design which I am thinking of at the moment is a hub which services a range of new activities throughout the city. This hub would be located by the river and would form part of a new 'active' riverside. This is a long project and things can change but I am confident that this direction can lead me to an interesting scheme.
The 3rd year trip to Barcelona starts on Thursday. I'm hoping to find some interesting things in the city to help with my project as well as just enjoying the architecture and our history & theory lectures.
